For Danny and I's 1 year anniversary we decided to have a little staycation for the weekend instead of exchanging gifts.  We booked a night with the Halcyon Hotel in Cherry Creek and took an Uber there so we didn't have to bother with parking.  For the rest of our weekend, we stayed home and had some much needed time to relax and reminisce about our first year of marriage!

We started our weekend off with a slow morning, yummy blueberry waffles, and packed up for our weekend.  The Halcyon has an awesome rooftop pool that we were planning on spending some time at but it was snowing all weekend.... haha so we had to adjust our plans (and wardrobe) a little.

The service at this hotel is great - you'll be greeted with a smile and as many drinks as you want (coffee, wine, beer, whiskey, whatever).

The rooms at the Halcyon are what Mid-Century Modern dreams are made of.  The minimalistic rooms might lack color but definitely don't lack quality.  Each room comes equipped with record players, some vinyl, amazingly comfortable beds, Nespresso machines, complimentary Field Notes notebooks, and more.

The night of our anniversary we went to dinner at Quality Italian right next door to the hotel.  He had steak and whiskey (of course) and I had pasta and rosè.  We're super bad at remembering to take photos with each other, so he's a low quality photo of us in our apartment (better than nothin')!

In addition to Quality Italian, we also went to dinner at Euclid Hall - a yummy dinner that won't break the bank quuuite as much.

In addition to dinner, we also went to a speakeasy called B&GC (boys and girls club) which was basically located in the basement of the hotel.  To get in, you text the number found on their extremely minimal website.  If there's availability, they'll text you back with instructions on how to get in.  Inside you'll find a prohibition inspired spot with funky furniture and stiff drinks (just saying, I'm glad we could walk back to our hotel room).
